Ten Days That Gave a Family Back Their Future
A critically ill patient, a frightened family, and a recovery that began with honest care and a ₹100 consultation.
When the family arrived at Seva Bharathi Hospitals, they were frightened and exhausted. The patient was seriously ill, critical, by his wife’s account, and they had already been through a great deal in search of help. By the time they reached us, much of their hope, and their savings, had worn thin. What they were looking for was not a miracle. It was a doctor willing to listen, explain things honestly, and try.
They found that in Dr. Sushmeet.
Honest care, closely watched
Dr. Sushmeet sat with the family, explained the condition and the risks clearly, and — with their understanding and consent — began a carefully monitored course of treatment. He did not rush them, and he did not talk down to them. He treated them as a family in need of care, not as a case to be processed.
The change came faster than anyone dared hope. Within two days, the family could already see their loved one improving. Over ten days of treatment, he recovered fully — and in this case, surgery was not required.
Every patient is different, and decisions like these are always made carefully between a doctor and the family, under close medical supervision. What made the difference here was not the avoidance of any one treatment, but honest guidance, constant attention, and timely care.
In her own words
“Dr. Sushmeet Sir is a very good doctor. My husband was very critical when we came. Today, after ten days of treatment, he has recovered fully — and he doesn’t need surgery. We saw the difference within two days. Thank you.” — the patient’s wife
Behind those simple words is something we witness often at Seva Bharathi: the quiet relief of a family that feared the worst and was met, instead, with skill and kindness.
Healing that doesn’t bankrupt
For countless families, serious illness brings a second fear close behind the first — the fear of crushing debt. At Seva Bharathi, we believe no one should have to choose between a loved one’s life and the family’s future.
That belief shows up in small, concrete ways. An outpatient consultation here costs just ₹100. Every patient receives the same respect and attention, whatever they are able to pay. In our hospital, affordable never means lesser.
With gratitude
A recovery like this is never one person’s work. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sushmeet for his skill and steady commitment, and to Girija sister and the entire hospital team whose care surrounds every patient.
We are equally grateful to the donors, philanthropists, and well-wishers whose generosity keeps our doors open and our charges within reach of the families who need us most. Every ₹100 consultation, every medicine placed in a worried family’s hands, every life touched here — all of it rests on your support. You don’t just fund a hospital; you help write stories like this one.
Seva hi paramo dharma — service is the highest duty.
