Dr. Srinivas Arepally’s life is a powerful testament to how resilience, dedication, and service can transform not just individual lives but entire communities. Born in the modest surroundings of Seva Basthi, Chityala in Warangal District, Dr. Srinivas has carved an inspiring path from humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of hope for underserved communities.
Humble Beginnings
Dr. Srinivas spent his early years attending Bala Samskara Kendra and studying at Sri Saraswathi Shishu Mandir. Later, he pursued his secondary education in a government school while actively participating in Sangh activities and “Nitya Shaka,” where he imbibed the values of discipline, perseverance, and service.
Laying the Groundwork for Service
In 1997, driven by a deep sense of responsibility, Dr. Srinivas initiated Seva Bharathi programs in his village, including the establishment of a Seva Bhavan that became a hub for 25 service initiatives across three regions. Despite the destruction of the center by Naxalites, Dr. Srinivas’s commitment to his mission only grew stronger.
Transforming Lives Through Education
In 1999, he joined Seva Bharathi as a full-time volunteer, taking charge as the Headmaster of Sri Shivarama Krishna School in Machupahad, which served as a vital educational center for 25 tribal villages. Under his leadership, developmental activities flourished, bringing education and hope to marginalized communities.
In 2002, he took on the monumental challenge of combating child labor (Bala Karmikulu) in Palamur. His efforts led to the establishment of 20 English-medium schools, directly impacting over 10,000 children. These schools became a stepping stone for children to join mainstream education, with many later achieving success as government officials and professionals.
Overcoming Challenges and Adapting
In 2012, personal commitments brought Dr. Srinivas back to his village to care for his ailing mother. Undeterred, he continued his service, earning advanced degrees and contributing as Avas Pramukh in Mancherial by 2015. His relentless dedication earned him a position with Seva Bharathi Telangana under the Rashtriya Seva Bharathi, where he played a vital role in the Late Shri Suryanarayan Rao Vikas Yojana.
Leadership and Innovation
Dr. Srinivas’s journey of growth includes participation in transformative programs:
- Disha Varga in Gingole: Mastering Hindi to enhance communication.
- Sadhana Varga in Bhopal: Gaining expertise in digital skills and project management.
- Anubhuti Varga in Shambaji Nagar: Learning CSR frameworks and participatory planning techniques.
Equipped with these skills, Dr. Srinivas designed impactful CSR projects using methodologies like Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Logical Framework Approach (LFA) to maximize social impact.
A Legacy of Service
During the Deekshna Varga in Kanyakumari, Dr. Srinivas showcased his dedication by delivering an inspiring speech in Hindi, highlighting Seva Bharathi’s impactful projects and sharing success stories.
