Appeal for Support to Children of Child labour rehabilitation Program
Over 79% of the out-of-school children belong to the rural areas, SC/ST children account for nearly 11.5 % of the total out-of-school children. The most common cause for remaining out of school was due to household work, taking care of siblings and working to improve the family income.

Dear Friends,
There are a lot of children out-of-school for a number of reasons and the reasons whatever they might be the worst affected is the children of the family. The little hands go out to work to mitigate the poverty in whatever small way thrust up on them. Be it the drought, loss of their parents, natural disasters, disability or even inaccessibility to the school they stay back home to attend to household work, taking care of siblings and working to improve the family income.
The drop-out rates in Mahabubnagar, Medak, Warangal, Nizamabad (above 50%) and Nalgonda (above 40%) are very high and needs urgent attention. The Dropout rate wavers from 19 % to 36% depending up on the class and poverty level of the child’s family.
The fact that child labour figures are at the top of the charts is unbearable and the Govt of India as well as the Govt of Andhra Pradesh have banned Child labour in any form and made education compulsory for children below 14 years.
Seva Bharathi has taken up the cause and has been conducting PRAGATHY PATHAM, a series of talent hunt exams to identify talented children from among the 160 Residential Bridge course centers in Mahaboobnagar district and Primary schools in Medak Dist, as well as Kurnool district so that children in the midst of poverty have a ray of hope. Seva Bharathi selects children talented from them and takes care of their food, clothes and education until they are grown up.
It’s a Herculean task we need support from each one of you. We appeal to all of you to support the project and help children access their right to education a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution and our responsibility to making a better India.
Seva Bharathi has been working to transform children working and out of school to students and India’s tomorrow since 2002.
Seva Bahrathi picks up children from the talent exam and provides them in a condusive atmosphere so that they can perform well and grow up to become useful and contributing citizens of the motherland. Today we support 520 children some orphans, others destitute, differently-abled, victims of poverty, child labourers etc
There are 4 exclusive homes that support 254 children and are working for children who could have been child labourers but for Seva Bharathi’s efforts.
